“It’s nice to meet you, I’m Nate”
Tom Holland shared a look at his portrayal of the main character of the Uncharted franchise on his Twitter account.
Fans are seemingly not overly pleased with Tom Holland being casted as the the notorious treasure hunter, stating that he is too young to portray the character. There were however certain scenes from the popular video game series that showed Drake as a teenager. Will the decision to star Holland over Mark Wahlberg as Nathan Drake turn out to pay off? We’ll have to wait and see.
As a dedicated player of the Uncharted games, I was one of the people saying Tom Holland was the wrong choice to play treasure hunter Nathan Drake. He’s too young (or, he looks too young), and while there are story lines in the wildly popular games that follow Nate when he’s a teenager, that seemed like a strange place to start the story.
According to reports, the movie will be a prequel to the stories of the PlayStation game series, which explains why Tom Holland might be better suited than Mark Wahlberg (49) to star as the young Nathan Drake. Filming took place in certain parts of Berlin as well as Spain to capture to perfect environments.
Our verdict:
If you’d enjoy a treasure hunter’s adrenaline-packed adventure with a star-studded cast, this is a movie you have to watch. Die-hard fans of the series and those who are unfamiliar with it will be able to enjoy the plot.
